Emergencies can occur on even the most modern passenger ship. Only a well-trained crew can mitigate the effects of such an emergency and take care of passengers through good organization.

This course addresses basic procedures to be followed during an emergency on a passenger ship other than a Ro-Ro.

Course Aim:
On completion of this course the learner will be able to:-

  • The basic procedures to be followed during an emergency on passenger ships other than Roll on - Roll off vessels.
  • The course is a mandatory requirement as per STCW and the training covers the topics listed In STCW Code section A-V/3.1.
  • To impart to participants the various emergency scenarios which require the control of passengers due to these circumstances

Course Objectives:
On completion of this course, a participant will:

  • Have theoretical knowledge of the use of life saving appliances and control plans.
  • Know details on assisting passengers en route to muster and embarkation stations and major issues concerning mustering procedures.
  • Control and manage the crowd and to prevent panic situation from developing

Certificates:
Certificates of completion will be issued upon successful completion of the course and passing the written and practical test.
