Approvals: National Transport Authority- NTA to section A-VI/1, Table A-VI/1-1 of STCW 95.
Entry Requirement:
The participant must: -
- be at least 16 years of age;
- able to speak & write English, as the course is conducted in English
Objective:
Provide the training for candidates for survival at sea until rescued. This course is in accordance with section A-VI/1, Table A-VI/1-1 of STCW 95.
Course Content:
- Understands the principle of sea survival & survival crafts life saving equipments carried aboard..
- States the requirements for life boat for different type of ships.
- Know the dangers to survivors in survival craft.
- Know the procedures to launch the life raft & life boat..
- Understand & demonstrates the proper donning of life jacket.
- Able to jump into the water with life jacket on.
- Know what to do when the abandon ship signal is made.
- Know the action to take on arrival of rescue vessel or helicopter.
Assessment: Written test will be conducted at the end of the course.
Certificates : Certificates of completion will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
