Approvals: National Transport Authority- NTA to section A-VI/1, Table A-VI/1-1 of STCW 95.

Entry Requirement:

The participant must: -

  • be at least 16 years of age;
  • able to speak & write English, as the course is conducted in English

Objective:

Provide the training for candidates for survival at sea until rescued. This course is in accordance with section A-VI/1, Table A-VI/1-1 of STCW 95.

Course Content:

  • Understands the principle of sea survival & survival crafts life saving equipments carried aboard..
  • States the requirements for life boat for different type of ships.
  • Know the dangers to survivors in survival craft.
  • Know the procedures to launch the life raft & life boat..
  • Understand & demonstrates the proper donning of life jacket.
  • Able to jump into the water with life jacket on.
  • Know what to do when the abandon ship signal is made.
  • Know the action to take on arrival of rescue vessel or helicopter.

Assessment: Written test will be conducted at the end of the course.

Certificates : Certificates of completion will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
