Course Duration: 1/2 day
Approvals: National Transport Authority- NTA to Section A-VI/1, Table A-VI/1-4 of STCW 95.

Entry Requirement:

The participant must: -

  • be at least 16 years of age;
  • able to speak & write English, as the course is conducted in English

Objective:

The participants will have gained sound knowledge and understanding on the fundamental on Personal Safety and Social Responsibility.

Course Content:

  • Types of emergency which may occur, such as collision, fire foundering
  • Knowledge of shipboard contingency plans for responses to emergencies
  • Action to take on discovering potential emergency, including fire, collision, foundering and ingress of water into the ship
  • Action to take on gearing emergency alarm signals
  • Value of training and drills
  • Knowledge of escape routes and internal communication and alarm systems
  • Basic environmental protection procedures
  • Familiarization with international measure concerning Accident prevention and occupational health

Assessment: Written test will be conducted at the end of the course.

Certificates : Certificates of completion will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
