Approvals: National Transport Authority- NTA to Section A-VI/1, Table A-VI/1-3 of STCW 95.

Entry Requirement:

The participant must: -

• be at least 16 years of age;
• able to speak & write English, as the course is conducted in English

Objective:

Provide the training for candidates for be competent to take immediate action upon encountering an accident or medical emergency until the arrival of a person with medical first aid skills. This course is in accordance with section A-VI/1, Table A-VI/1-3 of STCW 95

Course Content:

• General Principles
• Body Structures and Functions.
• Position the casualty
• Apply resuscitation techniques & control bleeding.
• Apply appropriate measures of basic shock management
• Apply appropriate measures in the event of burns and scalds, including accidents caused by electric current
• Rescue and transport of casualty
• Improvise bandages and use materials in emergency kit.

Assessment: Written test will be conducted at the end of the course.

Certificates : Certificates of completion will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
