Course Aim

The programme is designed to provide participants with necessary knowledge and skill which underpin their tasks in lifting operation.

Intended Learning Outcome

The participants will be able to know and apply knowledge and skill relating to safety awareness in lifting operation inline with national / industry standards of competence.

Course Terminal Objectives

• Understand the legal requirements and the company standards. (knowledge)
• Know the safety system of work at workplace (knowledge)
• Demonstrate the planning of lifting operations. (knowledge & skill)
• Identify and demonstrate the safe use of lifting appliances (knowledge and skill)
• Understand the rigging principle and terminology. (knowledge)
• Demonstrate the correct hand signals (Skill)
• Demonstrate lifting & slinging techniques. (skill)

All personnel involved in rigging and slinging operations

Course Methodology

This course will be presented in English. The course delivery format will be a combination of lecture/practical and team activity.

Measurement of learning shall be through to written tests (knowledge) demonstration of performance during practical exercises. (Skill)
