Objective:
To provide knowledge and training to personnel designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) as defined in Section A/2.1.8 and the requirements of Section A/18.1 & B/18.1 of the ISPS Code and IMO Model Course 3.21.
Course Content:
- An overview of the ISPS Code & SOLAS Chapter XI-2
- Historical perspective & current security threats & pattern
- International and national maritime security policies
- Responsibilities of government, companies & port facilities
- Risk assessments of ship security
- Operational limitations and maintenance of security equipment and systems
- Developing a Port Security Plan
- Threat Identification, Recognition & Response
- Maintaining Security Preparedness via Drills, exercises & Training
- Documentations, Audits & Security Administration
Assessment: Written test will be conducted at the end of the course.
Certificates: Certificates of completion will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
